The One With Ministering in the Life of a Missionary

Wasn't Conference amazing?!?
I know that Russell M. Nelson is God`s prophet on the Earth and that Christ is leading this church. Teaching people about living Prophets is always a highlight if lessons for me because there is SO MUCH confusion in this world and I am so grateful for my testimony that we do not have to flounder in this confusion. President Nelson did make me miss my family a bit by talking about the new home centered curriculum. It brought back flashbacks to family home evening, endless early morning scripture studies, and deep doctrinal talks with the fam.
Something that conference really helped me with was seeing how I fit in with the Ministering program. I knew one of my most important callings when I got home was going to be that of a Visiting Teacher and with the change to ministering I was itching to start! I couldn't help but feel like I was missing the wave of being instructed and practicing these new guidelines that allow for beautiful opportunities to receive revelation to care for God's children, but during one of the talks about ministering, they mentioned the full-time missionaries and that their work is literally just ministering and it all clicked! We have a huge whiteboard in our apartment with all the names of our friends of the church, our people with interest, our returning members that we are helping, and those members that are in need of extra support and service. Now when I look at that board, I see my ministering assignment. I get to do this full time. I don't have to worry about school or work or my social life. I just get to minister. Now, before I step foot on the busy street to go finding, I prepare myself to find those who need my ministering effort. Ministering has changed my missionary work.
We had transfer calls this week and Sister Spratt (the cute, short, blonde) will be going to Wells, Austria! Sister Jensen and I are going to remain here in Tübingen for another transfer! I don't like it when a transfer ends because I am that much closer to going home (sorry mom) but I love the feeling of excitement of change and new opportunities to make and keep goals!

RANDOMS:
- We have a fairly strong Spanish group in this ward so our investigator, Melanie (from Mexico) was able to watch conference in Spanish with our Bishops family and two other young single adults
- I cried when I heard all of the cheers for the new temples.
- The first picture kind of explains how most of this transfer has gone JOKES I am going to miss this dritt SO BAD! The only down side was that we would find separately (Don't worry, still within sight and sound) and then when we wanted to set up lessons with people we had to tactfully explain that not one, not two, but three people would be coming BUT other than that, it has been a blast. We have laughed so hard together, avoided contention, served one another, and made some lasting memories.
- This has been the most legendary District ever.
- We were trying to set up this volleyball net outside for a Sprtabend and we had no way to get the stakes into the ground! Soooooo I tried using a pan from the kitchen. Not my proudest moment.
