The One with the Oranges

Surprise!
I am popping my head in today because we have interviews this week so our P-day got changed!
We met with a really cool girl this week named Ishel and I literally aspire to be like her! Her father is German and Catholic and her mother is Middle eastern and Muslim. She has grown up with both influences and she has dedicated her time and energy to getting to know people from all different faiths. She is so accepting and loving and tolerant. I think if everyone opened their eyes, minds, and hearts like her our world would be a much better place.
I loved church on Sunday because our Bishop taught the joint class for the ward. He started off the class by asking us "How do you prepare the best glass of fresh orange juice?" There were answers like:
- You buy the ORANGEST oranges you can from the store
- You roll them on the counter to get more juice out of them
- You use a machine or a hand squeezer to get all of the good stuff out.
Anyways, he went on to ask, "How can we prepare ourselves for General Conference so that we can squeeze out every last drop of sweet personal revelation and guidance that we can?" I loved that little analogy. The talks have already been prepared. The oranges are purchased and will be put before us. Now, we have to use our agency to prepare ourselves to get everything out of them as we can! If you want help figuring out how to do that, you should read President's talk on revelation from last conference. He gives very specific steps!
I cannot wait to be connected with you guys through General Conference. I know that Russell M Nelson is a prophet of God and I cannot wait to hear the words from god through him!
Love you all!

Randoms:
- I translated church on Sunday and it was a train wreck! The speaker just read conference quotes super-fast and I was left silent! I know that it was not a failure, just a little motivator along the way to study as hard as I can.
- We went visit a lady that is less active because she is too old to come to church every couple of weeks and she is ADORABLE! Our lesson was focused around the Liahona and she had no idea what that was... we tried showing her the picture in the front of the book and she pulled out a 10-pound magnifying glass!
- Today we walked up to a little lookout of our beautiful town of Tubingen! I don’t think the random buildings and endless red roofs will ever get old
