The One with the Braided Yarn

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!! (And sister Grundvig!)
This week held a lot of emotions! I could probably write for hours BUT we all know there is not enough time for that!
One of the biggest things that happened was our exchange with the STL's. I have felt the strain of being in an area for the longest I have ever been, with a companion for the longest I have ever been. I have felt myself slowing and I did NOT want that to happen. I learned that I would be staying in my area for the exchange and a girl named Sister Moffett would be coming here. I was soooooo nervous! Sister Moffett has a really strong character and she tells people how it is. So, before the tausch, I prepared myself spiritually and mentally to receive all of the constructive criticism I could and have it propel me past these stagnant feelings. IT WAS AMAZING!!! I learned sooooo much! We had an amazing time and she helped me in so many ways. I had one of the most spiritual experiences on my mission as she and I visited a less active couple that has a 5 yr. old boy. The man had served a mission and she was a convert at age 21. We just opened it up and asked them why it was hard to come to church. They told us a couple of reasons that have kept them away and then we shared a spiritual thought. We were all in tears as we felt the Savior's tender pleading for them to come back and use his atonement. The man told us at the end that he had been having a rough time that week and he realized that morning that he had not prayed in over 6 months. He prayed that morning and then we showed up on his door step that night. It was so beautiful.
Another experience I had was while dooring. We had had a rough hour or so of dooring and then we saw 3 little girls with a little stand (an ironing board) outside of their house. We needed a little pick me up so we said, "whatever they are selling, we are going to buy it!" We got there, and they were giving out little braided strands of yarn that they had made. They found so much joy in just sharing what they made to brighten other people’s day! It was so sweet! There are no such things as lemonade stands here so it was quite the contrast. We gladly took our yarn and then kept going to more doors. After a couple minutes the little girls asked us what we were doing, and we told them. One said, "Well someone is home at my house! You should try it!' She ran in and told her dad that he had two visitors! We went on to have a beautiful talk with this man. All because of a little braided strand of yarn and the desire of these little girls to share some joy! I got to thinking about what I could do in my daily life to share that with others. What is my strand of braided yarn? It is amazing what can come of a little act of kindness!

RANDOMS;
- The cutest old couple took us out to legit bayerisch food and it was so yummy! She melts my heart!
- I casually took a picture while sister Grundvig was driving... just another day in Bayern!
- We had a family home evening with the Schönwald family this week and those kids made me so happy! They even made us chocolate chip cookies with ACTUAL chocolate chips that they got from America!
- Last Pday we took a little ferry out to a castle! We did not have as much time there as we wanted, but it was still a nice little get away!
- We are teaching the sweetest African family! We had a lesson with the mom this week. Her name in Princess. After a beautiful lesson where she agreed to read the Book of Mormon and pray, she told us that she had a gift for us! She made us African food for lunch! It was so kind! I did not realize that I missed SPICE until I had it! German food is delish, but they do not believe in anything spicy!
(Sorry this email is like a novel
