Hallo
from Sister Reay!
This week was really interesting. It was filled with a lot
of good and a lot of weird! There were cancelled appointments and missed
busses, but there were humbling moments and SOOOO MANY LAUGHS!!!
We have been meeting with a lot of members this week because we
have been issuing a challenge to each member to share a Book of Mormon with
someone. We met with this old woman in the ward named Sister Mohr and we
started the lesson by asking her why the Book of Mormon was so important to her
and how it has helped her in her life. She shared some really crazy stories
about her childhood. She grew up during the World War and she had so many
horrific things happen to her and so many of her family members were killed.
She told us that the only way that she was able to get through that was because
she had the Book of Mormon. She told us that she gained hope and strength as
she read through its pages. I had a realization of how blessed I have been to
grow up in a peaceful home. Even though I have not had bombs dropped in my back
yard or family members torn from my life, I have had struggles of my own. No
matter what our circumstances are or what our struggles are, there is peace in
that book.
Random Things:
-We put on a game night for our branch and it was so fun!!! It
was so funny having the members try and teach me new games in German. It
was such a funny mess! I loved it and I was able to grow closer to all of them!
-My companion is having to apply for colleges right now because
she goes home at the end of this transfer and she is FREAKING OUT and I have no
idea how to help her. I do not want her to go home yet because I love her
so flippin much!
-This week our Zone is doing a "Deutsche Woche" where
we are only supposed to speak German so we will see how that goes!
-Umm I have no idea what else to say soooooo..... PICTURES!!!
Me teaching German Class.
Just kidding that is the worst German sentence on the face of the planet
I never thought I could be this tired
