The One Where A Pole Jumped in Front of Carlos

Hallo Family!
So, if you are curious about the title... Carlos is our car. And for those of you who know better, poles do not actually jump, I just didn’t see it! It was not a very fun night! You guys know that sick feeling you get when something like that happens. So, that night I was laying wide awake in bed replaying the events of the day and I was really annoyed because it is an actual RULE that you pray before you start driving. So, before we started going, I prayed that we would drive in safety. So why the heck did I get in an accident? Why didn't God help me avoid this situation? Then I realized the wording of our prayer. That we would be kept safe. I instantly started thinking about how much worse it could have been and then the little pole did not seem so bad.
I often pray that God will keep me safe from the bad things in life. I want him to protect me from feeling the pain of hard situations, but that is not quite how it works. This life is a time for us to gain experiences. Good AND bad! So, we may still have times when we feel like things are not fair, when we beg for better days, or when we just want to hide from all that we are called upon to handle. The promise though, is that we will be "kept safe" in his loving, tender care.

Love, JJ

RANDOMS:
- We were dooring and a woman answered and (in the thickest German accent I have ever heard) said, "Sorry, I do not speak German"... in English. She started to close the door and we said in our *perfect* American accents "Oh, that is alright, we speak English!!!” Her eyes got sooooo wide and she just slowly and awkwardly closed the door.
- We were doing service for a less active and she asked us to take a package to the post office. We thought that was easy enough and then she pulled out this HUGE box that weighed a thousand pounds!!! We both had to grab a side and crab walk it through the train station and all the way to the post office. We looked really silly because our arms were about to fall off, so we couldn’t stop laughing!
- I went on Tausch this week in Munich and the Finding there was AMAZING! It was so fun because I have only ever been in dooring areas with a tiny street to go streeting on. SOOOOO FUUUNNNN!
