Halllo!
I hope you guys had a great
Valentine's day! I could just picture the chaos going on in Mom's classroom
with all her little kiddos running around, cutting pink and red construction
paper into little hearts!
We also had quite the
Valentine's Day experience! We decided to bake A bazillion SUGAR COOKIES and
write cute little notes for some less actives and some struggling members. We
asked our Ehepaar to drive us around go deliver them because if we took the
trains and busses we only would have been able to make it to 3 or 4 houses. BUT
with their help, we reached out to so many people! The morning of, when we were
baking the cookies, I was a little skeptical that we were not actually wasting
our time because skipping our sport time and study time to bake for 4 hours did
not really make me feel like I was fulfilling my purpose, but the second we
started delivering them I knew it was the best way we could have spent that
time. I literally felt like I could have been making a music video for my
favorite hymn, "Scatter Sunshine” IT WAS SO FUN! Rylee Allred always
taught me that the most precious thing you could ever give someone is your time
and that principle was definitely evidenced this week! It is amazing the
miracles you can witness when you give some people a little bit of TLC. Continuous
Simple acts of kindness really will break through to people’s hearts.
Random Experiences:
- My sleep from last
week has intensified... I am now sleep walking! 3 TIMES last week I got out of
bed, knelt down and said my prayers, and then started my morning routine... The
funny thing is that the first time it happened, I transitioned into wakefulness
mid-prayer, so I was so confused my comp was being disobedient and not getting
out of bed. I finally said, "Sister Lohner? I think we need to start
Fruhsport..." She got up, looked at the clock, and said, "Sister Reay,
it is 1 in the morning..."
- We were finding in
the town center where all the shops were and a woman came up to US. I was so
excited! I did not know what she was saying, but I was just so excited that she
came up to us, so I had this huge smile and I just kept saying "Uh-huh...
Ya"!!! Annnnnddd bad idea... I knew something was up because after the
lady left my companion put her face in her hands and then started laughing.
Apparently, she was gesturing to the Jehova Wittnesses, telling us to go over
and talk to them because we are both cults, so we should be friends. And I just
stood there and confirmed all of that... good times Oops! You live, and
you learn!
- We made chicken soup
last week! We were so proud!
- We did a lot of
dooring this week and Sister Lohner has never been in a dooring area, so I got
to play trainer for a couple of hours and show her the best way to do it!
This week has been
great. There has been a LOT of learning and a LOT of growing! Sorry this isn't
longer, I really wish I could put all of my thoughts down, but oh well! Have an
amazing week!!! Love you guys!
Love, Sister Reay
