The One with the Chocolate Santa Mishap

Happy 2018 Everyone!
Man, I have loved reflecting on 2017 and all that it held for me and my family. I played in my last volleyball game, graduated from high school, decided to go on a mission, left my family to go to a foreign country and speak a foreign language... WHAT A YEAR!!! I have also loved thinking about what this next year will hold. So many beautiful opportunities! I do not have very much time to email this week, but I just hope my family can feel my love for them. I loved every detail that was shared with me about Grandma's funeral. I am having a hard time not being able to be there to take care of my family, but I am trusting in Bishop Backus's promise to me that the ward will take care of them and take them in their tender love and care. Oh, how grateful I am for ward families!

Enjoy these silly points:
- So, I think I said this last week, but we received like 20 chocolate Santa’s from different people for Christmas. So, I had this brilliant idea that we would freeze two and then after a long day of missionary work we would make some hot chocolate, bite of the heads of the Santa’s and have our hot chocolate in our little chocolate Santa "cups". Serious Charley and the Chocolate Factory status right there. Well, the chocolate Santa’s melted within 10 seconds of us pouring the hot chocolate so we made a HUGE mess and we were laughing SOOOOO hard!
- Germany seriously does New Year’s right! It was INSANE! There were hundreds of fireworks going off around our apartment and they went steady for like 45 minutes! It was SO cool!!!
- On New Year’s Eve we were allowed to watch a movie and we watched "The Testament" video and I was so happy! I LOVE MOVIES and that one made me cry so hard!
- So, I was showering today and I ran out of shampoo and conditioner. The sister that was here before me left some bottles in the shower that she said I could have them, buuuut they are all in German. One said Schuumu or something and then there was a bottle in similar style and it started with a C, so I thought it was safe to assume that it was shampoo and conditioner. Well after my shower I asked my companion and apparently, they were both BODY WASH!!!! So, my hair feels gross today! Oh, the Joys of not knowing German!
- I am trying to become a better missionary every day, but I have had to work on not expecting more from myself than what my Heavenly Father expects.

I know it is not much, but I hope you got a couple smiles from this!
Have an amazing week and set some great Goals!
I LOVE YOU!!!!!
Love, Sister Reay
