The One with the Snow, Goodbyes, and Eternal Friends

Family!!!
Honestly, what even happened this week? My first week here felt like a life time and now, the weeks pass by before I even know it!
This week has been filled with all sorts of emotions. Our District gets closer and closer every day. I love everyone and all of their crazy characters. We always have family prayer at meals and I just love them all. It snowed this week!!! It was so beautiful and so fun! It put EVERYONE in a good mood! The MTC still feels like a dream and I cherish every minute!

President Bunker is my favorite! The English districts went on the church history tour so we were the only people in the MTC one morning. So, what does president do? He goes and gets us Krispy Kreme donuts! We have also had this inside joke about "Cozy Socks" which I don’t really have time to explain and you probably wouldn't get it anyway, BUT long story short, he bought "his Daughters" some fuzzy socks and "his Sons" ties. We had our interviews with him this week and he just helped me to feel so comforted. I love that man.

We already mailed one of our bags to Germany yesterday because it was less expensive than bringing it on the plane and it didn't have a weight limit! So, I am stoked! We leave Thursday morning and spend the night in the mission home. That means I will be in my assigned place on Friday! SO NUTS!!!

For Sundays, President gives the topic for talks in the beginning of the week so that we all can prepare a talk on that subject and then Sunday morning he announces who will actually be speaking. We are asked to give our talks in our mission language. Since I had not given a talk yet I was sure I would be asked, and I was! So, that was fun! All of the English speakers were really funny because afterward they kept saying "Oh my goodness!!! Your German is so good!!! You are so ready for the Field"... I really appreciate the sweet compliments, but little do they know, I was slaughtering the Grammar and because I was nervous, I forgot like half of my vocabulary so I basically just used the same 10 nouns and 10 verbs and made different sentences... BUT I WAS STILL PROUD! I was able to still feel accomplished because I made it a point to only write bullet points for my talk in English so I would force myself to not just read my talk! The sisters in my district and I sang "Come Thou Fount" in German for Sacrament meeting and it was such a cool experience... we could all feel it... Ugh! THE CHURCH IS TRUE!
I hope I can remember all of these amazing experiences I have had here. It was so hard saying goodbye to Sister Schumann... she taught us for the last time last night and her testimony is so strong. There are no words to describe my MTC stay... I have gained family and friendships that will last through eternity. I have gained a testimony that Jesus Christ lives. He is not just some unknown being, but he is our brother and he loves us individually.

Reasons I Am Not Ready for the Field:
- I am going to freeze my booty off!
- I don’t know German
- I have to start making my own food

Reasons I Am Ready for the Field:
- Christmas in Germany (or Austria or Switzerland)
- My brain is not accepting any more German at the moment so even though I could learn so much more in the MTC, I have kind of reached my limit
- I had the realization this week that I get to be a part of a ward family again, which I have really missed.
- I get to see BABY GERMANS!!! I didn't think about that until like two days ago, but seriously can you imagine it? An adorable little human that only speaks German... MY HEART!!!
- My testimony has grown so much this week and I am just overwhelmed with the importance of this Gospel. So, I cannot wait any longer to be able to share it!

I love you all! I can't wait to let you all know where I will be serving!
Have an amazing week!

Love, Sister Reay
